Congratulation Casey!!

Last weekend was very special. We got to spend time with our kids Shane and Casey, but also attended a beautiful graduation ceremony at Texas A&M for Casey. Casey's mom and dad, both sets of her grandparents, some other relatives and friends were there.

The ceremony was on Saturday and it was the last graduation of the semester. I believe I heard there were around 5,000 students graduating that weekend in several different ceremonies that started on Thursday and ended on Saturday. We had great seats, thanks to Nancy and Kevin, and the ceremony was very touching. I applaud everyone of those people for their great accomplishment. We are really happy for Casey, who now has her degree in education, and is looking for a job in the fall. I'm sure she is going to be an awesome teacher.

After graduation we all went to a great Italian restaurant for a delicious meal. Then, back for a fun evening of goodies and games at the recreation room across from Shane and Casey's apartment. It was a very pleasant day, and so nice to get to spend time with our kids and Casey's family.

This is a picture of all the graduates parading in.

Welcome, to the working world ... that's good, I think. :)

Hi and Bye.....

My cousin Jackie flew into Shreveport yesterday to help her mother (my Aunt Pee Wee) with her big move to Colorado. It was really good to see her. I think it's been 4 or 5 years since she has been here for a visit. Aunt Pee Wee and I picked her up at the airport then went back to Pee Wee's house for a little visit. We went out for an early dinner at Jan's River Restaurant... yum!! They have great catfish and shrimp. We pigged out, and I still had leftovers to take home.

They are going to Huntsville for a quick visit with Jackie's son and some friends, then they are heading out for Colorado. I hope they have a safe trip, and I hope Aunt Pee Wee enjoys living in Colorado. I sure hope she takes plenty of warm clothes. :)

Here are a few pictures from yesterday.
